St. Mark's Anglican Church - Groups And Ministries


First Communion - Classes are offered to prepare children aged 7 years and older who wish to receive the sacrament.

Baptismal Classes - The priest holds these classes whenever a family wishes have a family member baptised

Confirmation Classes - For those wishing to receive the Sacrament of Laying-on-of-Hands, the priest prepares them six weeks prior to a visit from the Diocesan Bishop.

Matrimonial Classes - The priest conducts these classes in addition to the rehearsal prior to a couple's wedding.

Sunday School and Nursery - Programs for children (infant to early teens)

Special Services - Blessing of the Animals, Harvest Thanksgiving, Anniversary, Holy Week, Ash Wednesday

Ministries and Support Groups

Choir for Special Services - Practices are held Thursday evenings prior to special services. (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc)

Prayer Teams - Private prayer is offered during church services by members of the prayer team

Pastoral Care - Regular visits are made to parishioners who are in hospital, nursing homes or ill at home

Altar Flowers - Parishioners purchase flowers to be placed on the altar for Sunday services. These flowers are then taken to shut-ins after the service

Altar Assistants - Teams of youth serve at Sunday services as Altar Boys and Girls

Lay Readers - Training is available for lay parishioners to conduct the worship in the priest's absence

Lay Adminstrants of the Eucharist - Lay members of the parish are trained to assist the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion


Hospitality Group - Refreshments provided for social hour following Sunday morning services. Dinners are hosted several times throughout the year

Model Car Club - Wednesday evenings

Alcoholics Anonymous - Sunday and Monday evenings

Operation Christmas Child - Items are collected in shoeboxes to be sent to children in Third World countries at Christmas

Support for Daily Bread Program - A collection of food items is taken every week to support the Daily Food program at St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral

Christmas Share - A special offering (food and toys) is collected for needy families, organized through St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral

London Memorial Boys and Girls Club - A percentage of money raised by our Walkathon goes to the Boys and Girls Club
